Membership Recruitment Drive Program Rules

  1. New members who sign up between June 1st and August 1st, 2026 will receive a $25 giftcard or Zelle direct-deposit, delivered the first pay period after this promotion ends. If someone signs up but is still on probation after the promotion ends, they will receive the giftcard the first pay period after their UAEA dues deduction begins

    1. Existing members who recommend a member will receive a $25 giftcard if the new member mentions their name on their signup form. New members may only mention one person who recommended them on their signup form. Giftcards will be sent to the recommenders at the end of this promotion period. Each existing member will be limited to 3 recommendations during this promotion.

    2. UAEA will not distribute gift cards to existing or new members if the new member leaves the City during this promotion period, promotes to TSA, or withdraws their application prior to it being processed.

  2. At the end of this promotion period there will be an additional drawing for 2x$100 giftcards. One giftcard will be drawn using a list of names of new members. One giftcard will also be drawn using a list of existing members who have recommended new members. Each person who has recommended a new member will receive an entry into this drawing, with additional entries for each additional recommendation (up to 3 total). If more than 20 new members sign up during this promotion, 2x$100 giftcards will be drawn for each group. If more than 30 new members sign up during this promotion, 3x$100 giftcards will be drawn for each group.

    1. Members who provided the most new sign-ups may also be recognized in future UAEA publications or communications.

  3. UAEA members will need to respect all Tempe rules regarding harassment and solicitation of non-members. Unless asked a specific question by a non-member, conversations should be limited to sharing information about the benefits of membership and your own personal experience. All City of Tempe rules regarding harassment and solicitation must be observed.  If a non-member expresses disinterest, they should not be approached again.

  4. Upon request to the UAEA President, UAEA members may receive a list of all current UAEA members in their department with the understanding that this information should be kept confidential.
